1.Our History

History of Sino Eagle Group

The vision of Sino Eagle Group company was founded from humble beginnings by John (Zhangyou) Xiong in 1985. A self made entrepreneur, John grew up in afamily with many siblings - his father was a local fisherman. Spending time as a child around the water, from an early age, John was always drawn to boats and the watercraft around him.

At the age of 15, John entered trade school which was the standard practice at the time in the Chinese education system. He studied carpentry and production furniture making.Unsatisfied with this as a career path, with the will to makea difference, John spent his days studying the trade school curriculum, and his nights and free time developing his passion for designing and producing finely crafted furniture. John went on to graduate from trade school but not before he expressed his passion and interests to his teachers by wowing them with his extracurricular fine craftsmanship. 

After working for a local boat builder and learning as much as he could, in 1985, John decided to strike out on his ownand started designing and building high performance rowing shells. This was a niche market which John felt offered a strategic platform to launch and growfrom. In March of 1986, John's first boat was launched, which went on to win agold medal in April, in a national race against 5 other imported boats.

The companies first real stand and ultimate test of endurance in the marketplace came shortly before the 1990 Asian Games. The company was chosen as the official supplier of 61 racing shells to the Asian Games. Weeks before the scheduled delivery of the boats, tragedy struck when the factory roof caved inunder extreme weather conditions and destroyed most of the finished shells. At his wits end, and with minimal resources to continue, or for that matter,deliver on time, John's staff displayed the highest degree of loyalty and teamwork by pulling together working days and nights with-out pay, to save the company and what it stood for, by meeting their deadlines and delivering on-time.

This is the earliest incident and testament to the comradeship, loyalty and passion which can be seen in the company as strongly today, as it was 30 years ago.

Although the company has come a long way since its humble beginnings, the brotherhood, loyalty and continued perseverance by all to produce the best composites products for world leading companies is instilled in our everyday dealings, and is something that our employees and partners are proud to be a part of. 

In 2007, Sino Eagle Group company was established to manage the 5 subsidiary specialized manufacturing companies,producing a full range of quality recreational and commercial products.

On October 25, 2011 Sino Eagle USA became aregistered and established entity in the state of Florida, USA. This strategic decision by Sino Eagle Group serves as a testament and an investment to our commitment in strengthening our relationships with American businesses and consumers who demand the highest quality goods and services. Sino Eagle Group employs American nationals in the USA and abroad.

2.Our Factory

Hangzhou Flying Eagle Boat Co., Ltd is a privately owned company founded by Mr. Xiong Zhangyou, which produces Wintech Racing boat, Kayaks, Surf Skis, Rowing Shells, Oar, Paddles, Surf Boards & SUP's, Sails boats, Luxury Yachts and more.

About 3000 boats are produced annually. This ranks Hangzhou Flying Eagle as one of the biggest rowing shell manufacturers in the world, as well as the biggest in China. Hangzhou Flying Eagle has 56000 square meters of workshops and hi-tech facilities to produce rowing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing and motor boats.

Hangzhou Flying Eagle is located in FuYang District, Hangzhou City, situated in the hills surrounding the Fuchun River. The factory is 38 KM to Hangzhou and 250KM to Shanghai. It is located at NO.81 Golf Road,Gaoqiao Town, Fuyang District,, Zhejiang Province 311402 P.R.C. International transportation is available and convenient to both cities.

Production technologies all include vacuum-bagged and heat-cured laminates, and sandwich structures for a superior product. Prepreg and traditional epoxy wet-layup constructions are available for most boats, using carbon, Kevlar and fiberglass to suit the needed level of performance, usage and price. Both single skin and sandwich structure construction, with Nomex honeycomb and high-density foam core, are available to meet weight and stiffness criteria.

Carbon sculls, oars and paddles are available in different ranges of stiffness to meet your need as well as a full compliment of accessories, from boat slings to pitching gauges and beyond.

The range of rowing boats includes 28 types of racing shells, in 4 different price categories determined by construction method and materials. Hangzhou WinTech also makes adaptive, touring, recreational and open-sea rowing boats that are specially designed for their particular usage. The hull of the catamaran launches, are based on racing shell design, with low resistance and wash, are available for coaching, umpiring and professional TV transmission.

Klaus Filter (Germany) is the production consultant to Hangzhou WinTech and is widely regarded as the world's leading expert on racing shell design and construction. He has designed more Olympic and World Championship winning shells than any other person. His ongoing involvement is one example of how the company works hard to enhance quality, efficiency, and management.

In 2004, Hangzhou WinTech, WinTech Racing (USA) and Klaus Filter combined efforts to create complete line of High Temperature Pre-preg Monocoque rowing shells. WinTech Racing technicians were at the factory for over 10 months of that year, creating one of the lightest, stiffest and safest rowing shells available worldwide. Further cooperation between Hangzhou WinTech and WinTech Racing continued presence in China, continues the innovations and increases the quality of the product daily.

Sales are very active throughout Western Europe, USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. High results have been achieved at all levels of competition by the boats produced at Hangzhou WinTech. Hangzhou WinTech has cooperated with the International Rowing Federation (FISA), to provide shells and oars for the Worldwide FISA Development Program. This innovative program has resulted in many new athletes, in developing countries, to gain access to affordable high-quality rowing equipment.

Stellar kayaks

The development of Stellar Kayaks and Skis started in the summer of 2008 with intense research over 12 months receiving input and advice from a number of paddlers as well as surveying market trends from around the world. 

Ed Hofmeister and David Thomas have experience with a variety of water craft, and initially specialized in Rowing Shell manufacture and design, working with several renowned Naval Architects since 2000. Klaus Filter, the World famous Naval Architect of WinTech Racing. Klaus was trained in Naval Architecture at the prestigious University of Rostock and has over 50 years of knowledge and experience being involved in many arrays of human powered and wind powered boats - with a focus on rowing shells. It is not uncommon to see technologies and design developments in one sport cross over into another and we have taken this opportunity to work closely with them, when developing the new range of Stellar Surf Skis and Kayaks.  

The range of Stellar Kayaks has developed into different categories by its construction ,material and usage.

Laminate Description/Usage:

Sport -This laminate is a single skin fiberglass with a gelcoat exterior, making it very tough, forgiving and affordable. The single skin laminate is more flexible than the other laminates which allow it to absorb impacts without serious damage. This is a great entry level boat and can take some abuse from less wary paddlers. 
Advantage- This laminate is Soric cored fiberglass with a gelcoat exterior, making is stiffer and lighter than the Sport, but also at a good price point. This laminate has better performance than the Sport, but also similar toughness and ability to absorb some abuse. This is our most popular boat for touring and entry level surf skis for its combination of durability, stiffness, weight and price. 
Excel - This laminate is Kevlar with Nomex Honeycomb core and a gelcoat exterior, making it very stiff and very light. This is a performance laminate designed for those who desire a stiff and fast boat and know how to handle a boat on and off the water. The Nomex core makes for a light and stiff boat, but the impact resistance is much less than that of the Advantage or Sport. If you hit a rock or log or even tie down the boat too tight on unsupported racks, this could result in damage. 
Ultra - This laminate is Carbon with Nomex Honeycomb core and a painted finish, making it extremely stiff and light weight. This is a performance laminate designed for those who desire the stiffest and fastest boat and know how to handle a boat on and off the water. The Nomex core makes for a light and stiff boat, but the impact resistance is much less than that of the Advantage or Sport. If you hit a rock or log or even tie down the boat too tight on unsupported racks, this could result in damage. Secondly, the painted finish is more prone to scratching than the gelcoat finish, so take care to clean the boat well and avoid running it aground when landing to keep the finish pristine. 
Multisport -This laminate is an innovative offering, with a single skin laminate hull made of Carbon & Kevlar, with an EPS Foam stringer, which is flexible and durable, but creates a stiff boat that can take some abuse in the rivers and shallows. Tested in New Zealand, this laminate is at home racing down rivers through the rapids or in the ocean. The Surf Ski Multi-Sport construction comes standard with an over-stern rudder and fittings for an under-stern rudder, as well as a flush mounted Andersen mini-bailer, while the Touring kayak version has the usual features. This laminate is ideal for those who paddle in shallow rivers, lakes or even rocky shorelines where the boat will encounter the bottom from time to time.
